I’m rather happy to have rather an exotic hobby which can entertain me all the time. And here below I can tell you about this in details. Perhaps you’ll be astonished by the fact that such guy like me is a real fan of historical reenactments. The matter is that I look like a very calm and silent guy. In fact I’m a typical office creature sitting there from morning till evening drinking coffee and clicking with a mouse. So you might wonder this calm guy is crazy about sleeping on the ground in the cold weather being only covered with his military clothing. To my mind only coach potatoes can think like this. Of course they like doing nothing such as watching TV while eating cheeseburger. They don’t care about their gradual gaining extra pounds. They are used to live with their obesity. But I can’t have such a life because I’m a reenactor so I need something special and really thrilling in my life. And thank God I can have an excellent opportunity to entertain myself in rather an extraordinary way with the help of my taking part in different historical reenactments.

To start with let me remind you what these historical reenactment mean. So to cut a long story short historical reenactment is a sort of a roleplay where participants do their best to recreate some historical events. In fact we can reenact both specific moments from certain battles and the whole historical period such as dark medieval ages for example. I should inform you that this kind of entertainment has got a relatively long history though some people still consider it to be a new way of spending free time in a crazy way. Of course these damn coach potatoes keep on calling us “crazy creatures”. So let God punish these lazy guys for abusing us. In fact I’ve missed my topic, sorry. So we’ve stopped on the history of historical reenactments. OK, I’m going to continue right now. So the matter is that such activities which can refer to historical reenactments appeared in the ancient Rome if I right of course. So exactly the Romans were the first guys to stage famous battles of the past. Certainly they used their outstanding amphitheaters for making these exciting public spectacles.

That’s enough about the history of this entertainment to my mind. As for the present we don’t use amphitheaters for our shows as the Roman did. We make shows in the country. We choose a field for this in advance. We usually reenact the American Civil War. But several times we tried to reenact Napoleon wars and we enjoy it. Next time I’ll invite you for our reenactment show devoted to the World War II. It’s going to be exciting I’m sure.
